Find a Line

Find a line came to be after I was teaching students how to make a tone drawing. I started with two light chalk triangles side by side and with a horizon mark behind the triangles. Then I began to shade and create a value drawing and it became a pyramid. Therefore, outlines don't exist. These pictures invite the viewer to find what look like lines but are ultimately values of light and dark.
The pictures are made with 4x5 film pinhole camera. I chose the forest because it is a significant part of the Canadian landscape.
